Har Sinai-Oheb Shalom Congregation exists because of the generosity and thoughfullness of its members and friends. We have several funds to which you can contribute.

Fund Name and Description

Temple Fund ~ Helps offset operating costs. We rely heavily on contributions which help us meet the expenses which we incur in our daily operations. Minimum contribution is $10.

Chai Fund ~ Allows us to purchase or refurbish items of Judaica which can be used at worship services. Examples of this would include Sifrei Torah, Kiddush Cups, Havdalah Sets, etc. Minimum contribution is $18.

Membership Assistance Fund ~ Provides dues assistance to ensure that every person who wants to be a member of Temple Oheb Shalom is afforded that opportunity. Minimum contribution is $18.

Minyan Sponsorship ~ Morning Minyanim can be sponsored in honor of, or in memory of, to remember a yahrzeit, on a birth date or in appreciation for an act of kindness. $54 sponsors one day. $180 sponsors one week. $360 sponsors one month.

Melvyn J. Leeb Religious School Scholarship Fund ~ the goal of which is to help subsidize tuition for those children whose families cannot afford to fully pay religious school fees. Minimum contribution is $18.

Leona S. Morris Children’s Shabbat Dinner Fund ~ Provides for Temple Oheb Shalom to offer FREE Shabbat dinners for children of Temple members, Oheb Shalom Religious School and Learning Ladder for Tot Shabbat and Family Shabbat dinners. Minimum Contribution $15

Albert Weitzman Gift of Israel Fund ~ Provides educational opportunities through trips to Israel for our temple youth. Minimum contribution is $15.

Thalheimer Family Fund ~ Supports Family Education programs. Minimum contribution is $15.

The Sandee Lever Lending Library Fund ~ Minimum contribution is $25.

Music and Choir Fund ~ Provides for the needs of the choir and presents musical programs designated by the Cantor. Minimum contribution is $15.

Sylvan and Isabelle Ribakow Music Fund ~ Supports the Professional Choir for High Holy Day services. Minimum contribution is $15.

Jack Epstein Memorial Lecture Fund ~ Endows an Adult Education lectureship to be named in memory of Jacob Epstein. Minimum contribution is $25.

Bette and Bill Cohen Childrens Library Fund ~ Enhances learning through books and resources for children from preschool to Grade 8. Minimum contribution is $15.

Learning Ladder Fund ~ Assists the Learning Ladder (preschool) program. Minimum contribution is $15.

Flower Fund ~ Allows us to replenish the Bimah flowers. Minimum contribution is $15.

Chiae Herzig Tikkun Olam Fund ~ Supports Social Action projects, such as the Gan Chiae and other acts of Tikkun Olam. Minimum contribution is $18.

Rabbi Donald Berlin Youth Scholarship Fund ~ Supports youth programs. Minimum contribution is $18.

Rabbis Discretionary Fund ~ This fund allows our senior rabbi to respond to urgent needs and to provide Tzedakah to worthwhile causes.

Cantors Discretionary Fund ~ Allows our cantorial team to respond to urgent needs and provide Tzedakah to worthwhile causes.

Assistant Rabbis Discretionary Fund ~ This fund allows Rabbi Marion to respond to urgent needs and to provide Tzedakah to worthwhile causes.

Torah Fund ~ Allows us to maintain and refurbish our Sifrei Torah as the need arises. Minimum contribution is $36.

Tree of Life Fund ~ Celebrates cycle events with a leaf added to the Tree of Life displayed in the Chapel Lobby. Minimum contribution is $350.

Memorial Plaques ~ Memorialize your loved one with a bronze plaque and annual recognition on Yom Kippur and the Yahrzeit Anniversary. Minimum contribution is $750.

Annual Giving ~ Member dues cover less than 50% of our budgeted expenses. Your Annual Giving donation enables us to continue providing our valuable programs and services.
